BOG Project (Great North Bog Restoration Project ) needs an established leader and manager. This project is ambitious in terms of the multi millions pound spend but also in terms of time, the shortness of time to deliver. One of the key skills needed to make this work is that ability to make relationships work. These specialist relationships cross many boundaries and are intertwined. There are two key tasks for this full time role:
Firstly: to lead and manage the delivery of the project torestore1000 hectares of peatland across Cumbria and Lancashire over the next 2 years.
Secondly: to undertake a piece of work across National trust landholdings in the north to explore and develop future peatland restoration funding opportunities. To work with our operational team helping to develop and deliver further projects, to share expertise and to grow opportunities to deliver our wider strategic ambitoins for peatland restoration and reducing climate impact.
Over the next two years this will be a ‘turn-key’ role to help us undertake some fantastic delivery but also to help set us up for success into the long term
There is scope for flexibility in working patterns, short days, whole days,- the key for us is to find someone who can bring agility, clarity and focus to this exciting and meaningful peatland recovery work.
Please see attached background additional information.
Interviews will be held online 14th December. Given the breadth of this role those who live outside of the area but would like to apply. Internal secondments are also welcome to apply.
